How a Bowflex Pedometer and Heart Rate watch works
Pedometer Function -
The pedometer watch is powered by a motion-sensing accelerometer, considered the most accurate and reliable way to track your steps
Heart Rate Function -The S-Pulse tm technology measures the electronic signals that pass through your body as result from the beating of your heart. This measurement is obtained by the watch’s three sensors. The back metal plate of the watch is actually the primary sensor that measures these electronic signals off your arm. The EKG measurement is done when you place your fingers from one hand on the two sensor keys on the watch attached to your opposite arm. This creates a loop across your body the watch can now read

Can you wear this Pedometer Heart Rate watch all day ie to count 10,000 steps a day?
Yes you can, but here are a couple of points to consider first...
1) Because you wear it on your wrist it will count arm movements as steps after the 9th consecutive movement. Ie making the bed it can clock up 40-60 steps because of the arm movement. (It does have a function that you can stop it and restart it if you wish). If you decide to wear it all day for 10,000 steps a day the you should allow a few hundred steps a day to be arm movement depending on what your daily routine/job is.
2) After 15 minutes of inactivity - ie sitting at a desk, watching the TV. The pedometer function will turn off (to save power) so you do have to remember to press start once you start moving again.
